Mikaella joined Stubben Edge in 2018 as an Intermediary Relationship Associate with a focus to develop new relationships with Brokers and Financial Advisers.
During her studies in her homeland of South Africa, Mikaella gained valuable experience through a long-term placement working with the Account Management Team for Ricoh South Africa as well as several other additional sales-related roles.
Mikaella completed her bachelor’s Degree in Business Management with 14 distinctions from the University of South Africa. Having an International focus on the world, Mikaella is continuing her studying with a MOOC certificate of achievement in Global Business in Practice with Georgetown University, USA
Matt joined Stubben Edge in March 2018 as a client relationship associate, part of the team responsible for generating new business and developing productive relationships with intermediaries.
Matt has previous experience working in the sales team for an Investment Broker where he honed his skills opening new accounts generating leads.
In 2015 Matt graduated with a degree in History, Politics and Philosophy from the university of Brighton and then went on to complete a postgraduate degree in Economics from the University of London - SOAS.
As a Senior Engineer, David leads the development team in managing the development of software solutions for all in house and cliental needs .
David is an enterprise solution developer with the track record of converting user and business requirements into cost-effective, secure and user-friendly solutions for scalability and durability. His Knowledge of commercial and open source software/database engineering tools, techniques and methodologies, CASE tools and security standards enables him in delivery on time projects with immediate returns on investments.
In 2013 David graduated from the University of Greenwich with a Computing degree and afterwards pursued an MBA with Heriot Watt University where he acquired important business sense. He has also acquired several industry standard qualifications and certifications including “Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2016 Installation”, “Microsoft Certified Professional”, “Specialist Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2016 Customization and Configuration
After his internship ended in 2016, Declan joined the Stubben Edge team on a permanent basis working on a large-scale project, implementing a new centralised IT system.
Declan has gone on to develop his skills further in this area and now works closely with Lucid UX Ltd, part of the Stubben Edge Group, where he is involved in the Microsoft Dynamics project to replace Legacy Wealth Management and Risk Administration Systems.
Graduating from Anglia Ruskin University in 2016 with a Business Management Degree, Declan has gone on to complete further professional qualifications including his ISO 9001 certification and is working towards helping the company become ISO authorised.
Declan has also started to learn coding languages to help improve his own skills as he becomes more involved with the Lucid UX service offering to other regulated sectors such as Insurance, Finance, Healthcare and Engineering.
Scott joined Stubben Edge Group in February 2018 as an Intermediaries Associate, part of the team responsible for generating new business enquiries from Stubben Edge Risk and Stubben Edge Wealth.
Scott completed several fixed-term contracts at Lockton Companies LLP Brokers and Account Executives within the Professional Indemnity team while studying. There he established and maintained client relationships, processed new business proposals and assisted in the day-to-day running of the London office
In 2017 Scott graduated from the University of Essex in Sport & Exercise Science. During this time also having studied for a year at the University of Mount Union, Ohio, USA, where he obtained a different perspective of academics and sport and fulfilled a long-term ambition of traveling in America.
Scott is furthering his education through professional qualifications and is currently studying to obtain his CII qualifications in Insurance and Financial Services.
Lara joined Stubben Edge in 2017 as an Intermediaries Associate. She is responsible for supporting new business enquiries and developing long term, sustainable relationships with intermediaries for Stubben Edge Group.
Lara graduated from the University of Bristol, studying History and went on to complete her master’s Degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Leiden University in The Netherlands.
Lara has had previous work experience in international organisations, such as the European Union and Habitat for Humanity.
Lara is furthering her studies by undertaking a series of professional qualifications and has recently achieved her CII Certificate in Financial Services.
Tom joined Stubben Edge in 2016 as an Intermediaries Senior Associate.
Tom began his career in Insurance handling claims for a Commercial Insurance Underwriter in his homeland Gibraltar.
He spent two years learning his trade as an HNW Insurance Broker for Martinez & Partners where he was responsible for both selling and renewing bespoke private client products.
Tom graduated from Northumbria University in 2013 with a Degree in International Business Management with Spanish. He then studied another year with the University of Granada specialising his passion for Spanish Language and Culture.
Tom is currently studying for his CII Qualification in Financial Services.
Nathan was appointed Head of Intermediary Relations in 2017, having previously been Business Development Consultant and Marketing Manager since joining what is now Stubben Edge in 2014. Nathan leads a team of new business generators and support staff, as well as developing and maintaining key client relationships with strategic accounts.
Since graduating with a business and marketing degree in 2001, Nathan held several sales and marketing roles, including 2 years at the WAY Group, before going on to become an independent intermediary consultant and holds a STEP Certificate for Financial Services (Trusts & Estates).
Jason first established a web design and development agency in 1999.
Today, he is CTO of Stubben Edge Group and Managing Director of Lucid UX
the group’s in-house development business. Lucid UX
specialises in providing online solutions within regulated sectors, such as Insurance, Finance, Healthcare and Engineering. Its clients include Toshiba, PML (NHS Cardio and NOUS Patient Management Centre) and brokers aggregating into GoCompare and Confused.com.
He has a Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing and has obtained a distinction in Bachelor of Technology in Information and Technology.
Gerald joined what is now Stubben Edge Group as Head of Tax in 2017.
Gerald trained as a solicitor at Macfarlanes LLP, moving to Clifford Chance LLP upon qualifying where he developed a broad practice specialising in the taxation of the financial sector and spanning advisory, transactional and contentious tax. Prior to joining Stubben Edge, Gerald was Head of Tax and Partner at the London office of an international law firm. He is the editor of the leading practitioner work, Norfolk and Montagu on the Taxation of Interest and Debt Finance and has written for the British Tax Review on entity classification and Brexit.
Gerald is a member of the Loan Market Association Tax Committee, the Law Society’s Corporation Tax Sub-Committee, Lexis PSL’s Editorial Advisory Committee, and HM Revenue and Customs’ IFRS 9 Working Group.
Karen joined what is now Stubben Edge’ in 2013 as Head of Technical Services with responsibility for enhancing and adding value to a suite of products. She was promoted to Deputy Managing Director in 2016 with a focus on Sales and Product Development.
A graduate of Law from London Guildhall University and a registered Trust and Estate Practitioner since 2004, Karen has extensive experience in the wealth management sector including five years with Canada Life Limited as Head of the Trust and Estate Planning team and two years as a Trust and Tax Manager with MetLife Limited. Before joining Stubben Edge, Karen was Head of UK Trust Sales with Barclays Wealth and Investment Management.
Karen was also a member of the Product Tax Panel at the Association of British Insurers (ABI) for five years
In 2010 Chris established the business out of which Stubben Edge evolved. In 2018 Chris led the management buyout as a result of which Stubben Edge Group was created.
Chris began his career at the Conservative Research Department working on the Work and Pensions section of the James Committee Review. He trained at Grant Thornton where he worked in the Financial Services audit and transaction services team before moving to Strand Partners where he gained experience of mergers and acquisitions as well as public and private fundraisings. Chris was responsible for developing the United Kingdom arm of diversified financial services institution.
Chris has also been a visiting lecturer at Hull University. He is a Chartered Accountant and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
Graham joined the Lloyd’s of London insurance market in 1968 after graduating from the University of Cambridge.
He is a well-known and well-respected figure in the market, having been a major player in the industry as a reinsurance broker, company secretary, managing agent and members’ agent. He was appointed Deputy Chairman by the Corporation of Lloyd’s in 2007, a post he held until February 2014. Graham was appointed Chairman of Argenta Private Capital Ltd in 2011 and retired from this position in August 2015.
He was also Deputy Chairman of Argenta Syndicate Management Limited and a Non- Executive Director of Argenta Holdings plc until July 2017.
He currently serves as a director of Lloyd’s broker Marine Aviation & General (London) Ltd. Graham has an MBA from Cranfield.
Nicholas worked in the Willis Group for 28 years, 10 of which were spent running offices in Brussels and Paris. He was responsible for European reinsurance and retail divisions and was a Board member simultaneously of each of the major Willis Group operating companies.
In 2001 he joined the Board of Greenhill Underwriting Group as head of London operations and became Chairman of Sturge Underwriting SA. Subsequently he was a non-executive director and acting Chairman of Chubb Europe.
Nicholas owns EIS Partners, a broking and consultancy organisation specialising in European business. He is also Chairman of a Lloyd’s syndicate and is a non-executive director of CGPA Europe and Stubben Edge Group Limited.
Nicholas was for many years Chairman of the International Committee of BIBA, Chairman of the EU Committee of BIPAR and a member of its Management Committee (Secretary General). He is a member of BIBA’s Brexit Committee.
Nicholas Davenport is a graduate of Oxford University and INSEAD, Institut Européen d'Administration des Affaires.
Simon graduated from the University of Cambridge and has practised as a barrister for 35 years and has been a QC for 15 years. He has been appointed to sit as a Recorder at the Criminal Court (Old Bailey) and as a Deputy Deemster (judge) by the Lieutenant Governor of the Isle of Man.
Simon is an expert in commercial / civil and criminal litigation and has advised on insurance matters. He has appeared in the Supreme Court and frequently in the Court of Appeal. He also specialises in tax law and has extensive experience of VAT, duty and tax cases in the High Court, Crown Court and the First and Upper Tier Tax Tribunals.
He is co-author of several books concerning fraud, money laundering and confiscation published by Oxford University Press.
